HEETA Scalp Massager Shampoo Brush Review
We tested the HEETA with four hair types over six weeks. It is the best value under $15 and the easiest tool for building a consistent daily scalp routine.
Quick verdict
The best starting point for most people. Soft silicone tips, good scalp coverage, and it doubles as a shampoo brush. Works on all hair types from fine to coarse. Under $15.

The HEETA has 149 silicone tips arranged in a dome pattern. The tips are about 8mm long and compress about 35% under light pressure before stopping. That is the sweet spot: they flex with scalp curves but maintain enough resistance to deliver actual massage pressure.
On thick and coarse hair, the tips push through the hair volume to contact the scalp directly. On fine hair, they apply gentle pressure without snagging. This across-the-board performance is why it earns the Editor's Pick spot.
In-shower performance
The handle has a textured grip that holds in wet hands. Unlike some massagers that get slippery under shampoo, the HEETA stayed secure throughout our test. The dome shape fits naturally in the palm.
As a shampoo brush, it works well. The tips help distribute shampoo evenly across the scalp and build lather faster than fingers alone. This is a real bonus for people with thick hair who find it hard to get shampoo to the scalp.
Scalp coverage timing
We timed how long it took to cover the full scalp: front hairline to nape, top to sides: using circular motion technique. The HEETA covered the full scalp in 2 minutes and 50 seconds at a comfortable pace.
The 4-minute target from hair growth research is easily achievable with two full passes. This is the fastest full-scalp coverage of any manual tool we tested.
What it does not do
The HEETA is manual only. No vibration. If you want the added circulation benefit of electrical stimulation, you need an electric massager. The HEETA is best as an everyday in-shower tool, with an electric massager added for dry daily sessions if hair growth is a serious goal.
